Modesto Junior College will continually strive to foster an inclusive campus, reflect the local and diverse community it serves, and engage the varied needs of both employees and the broader public.

Acknowledging that diversity is a philosophical and material project that needs continuous interventions, the College Committee for Diversity and Community (CCDC) will serve as an active and advisory body of faculty, staff, students and administrators who highlight, address and engage the campus and community on matters of diversity.

As an intellectual and necessary component of this mission, MJC and the CCDC will resist defining diversity as a “thing” to be easily accounted for—rather, MJC and the CCDC must embrace diversity a continuous, open-ended project of questioning, engagement and social justice that has implications for all employees and the broader community.
